Unloading fuel at the gas station next door, I tried this spot out. Glad I did! Walked in and was greeted warmly and given time to review the menu. After asking a few questions, I ordered. First of all, the handmade corn tortillas were some of the best Ive ever had. I will try the burritos and tamales next time, but the tacos and mulita I ordered all had these tortillas that really made them that much better. Since they are homemade, I recommend eating the greasiest tacos first. The Shrimp taco was great, and quite big. Served with cabbage and some aioli that was great. Not greasy, or fishy. But The three textures came together great. (Shrimp was chewy, cabbage was crisp, tortilla was....tortilla. Im going to try the Spicy Shrimp taco next. The Carne Asada taco was even better! Quality Carne Asada. Had to get my own onions and cilantro from the salsa bar, and the mild hot sauce goes great with it. Trying the Aztlan Burrito w/ Carne Asada next time too! Then I had a Carnitas Mulita. EVEN BETTER! Lots of flavor and plenty of queso. Threw in some onions and cilantro, it went great with the hot sauce. So good, the carnitas was the right amount of greasy, and it came together really well! I ordered Horchata, and much to my pleasure, you go to the fountain and get your own ice! None of that "fill your whole cup with ice, then a half-cup of Horchata" nonsense. Lite-ice it, then take it to the counter to have it filled up! Great! The salsa bar is really good as well. Mild salsa is tasty. Medium salsa Verde is pretty good. The spicy Hot salsa isn't too hot, and really good. I like the "pickled" onions as well. The service was friendly, smiling and welcoming. As were the Cooks, who took the time to thank me as I walked out the door. Best Tacos in or around Lake Elsinore!

Worst service ever!!! Not to mention the disgusting food. The name is not deceiving because the name Aztlan is commonly used by cholos who are worthless, just like the food and the people here. There is very much lack of service and people skills and they do not treat their customers with the same courtesy. I regret coming here and really wish they close soon if they love their mom!!!

Having grown up in SoCal I love Mexican food. Most Mexican restaurants however serve food that is pretty much the same. Az flan is different though, the tacos are more like the ones I've had in Baja. This place scores really big points with me for making their tortillas fresh, how can you beat that? I have to confess that there are a lot of items on the menu that I haven't tried, I keep ordering the tacos Al Pastor. This place is kind of hidden in the corner of a strip mall but it's worth finding.

Excellent carne asada and carnitas. A couple tv's to watch the games while enjoying your meal. Imported beer available. Friendly service. Good choices from the salsa bar. Reasonable prices. A great little taco shop if in the area.

Great, fresh food!! Their salsa it delicious and they have great every day deals on meal. Small and no AC but good!!

My wife and I eat here all the time and we never get sick of it! The spicy shrimp taco and burrito are amazing. I try something new on the menu every time I go and I have never been disappointed. All this talk makes me want it so I'm headed there now...

  • Lorena H.

Definitely the worst sevice ever, they are so rude! My husband asked if he could get the Nachos half carne asada & half al pastor, but the lady rudely said "No either one meat or the other"!! The prices for how much food they give is just ridiculous. Also it's not real mexican flavor either, just horrible service & food!! Never going back. I gave it 1 star because I had to just so I could give my review or else I would have given it a fat 0...

New menu with a few price changes. The food is still delicious and the service is still friendly! My regular dish is the potato tacos plate with beans and rice.. DELISH! Top it off with some cheesecake and it's a meal that I'm telling others about! Yummmm! Stop in unwind have some good food, and catch a game on the tv's. Will be back again and again!

  • Maria O.

This place was recommended to me so I decided to give it a try. I had the fish taco and taquitos with guacamole. The fish taco was pretty good. The taquitos were mediocre but at least the guacamole was real. I'll give them another try, taste the some other items and re-review.

I honestly can't see how people love the actual FOOD here so much. Mexican food is my fav and I'm also very much a foodie. I tried this place about a year ago and decided to try again since it's so close. Unfortunately I have the same opinion from both visits. The meat in my asada burrito was so burnt, over grilled, and dry with minimum seasoning. I gave about a quarter of it to my dog (although he didn't seem to have any complaints lol). The salsa is good, just make sure you are a fan of and also can handle a good spice because even the mild has a good kick. The actual burrito was a nice size, but just as dry as the meat. They should add some sour cream, increase the amount of guacamole they add, and grill the asada about half the time. Sorry I can't recommend at all...

This place is doing the Lords work. Fantastic tacos! Asada... great. Chicken... great. Pork... great. Came for the lake. I'll come back for the tacos.

  • Angelenna S.

They are a little on the expensive side but I love the carne asada and they always give you delicious chips and salsa. :) Every time I have gone in I always get greeted with a smile and excellent customer service.

Great authentic Mexican food! Homemade tortillas are amazing. They serve fresh guacamole in almost everything. I love it. We needed a good Mexican restaurant in Lake Elsinore. It's a little more expensive then I'm used to paying, but it's worth every dollar. Their salsa is really good too! I haven't tried their fish tacos but i need to cuz of all the bad reviews. They are opening another one on Lakeshore. Tacos Elsinore ain't got nothing on them!

Excellent food, good service, will be back again, the outside is beat up, the inside is not ordinary but good...

  • Humberto G.

This place is pretty good. I've tried it a couple of times. Everything from there burritos to tacos and even there tamales are pretty tasty. They are a bit on the expensive side though, but unfortunately if you live around the area you know there isn't much to choose from unless you want to travel a bit. All in all food is good and they even serve beer! Try it out and decide for yourself. The tacos de al pastor aren't bad.

    (3)
  • Lauren H.

Best al pastor and spicy shrimp tacos! The homemade corn tortillas are on point and their taco Tuesday has great prices on tacos and beer. Try it out!!

I live in Southern California some Mexican food is like a diamond doesn't this place is good and taste like most of the California tacos that I have had It's always good to support local businesses in our area Definitely try it if you are around town

Finally went after having it bookmarked for several years. Wish I had gone a long time ago. Between the two of us we had the machaca, a chile relleno, a carne asada taco and an al pastor taco. The chile relleno was absolutely delicious - very cheesy and flavorful, would definitely have again. Same for the Al Pastor taco - lot's of flavor and would have again. The asada taco was good, but not exceptional, might try it again. The machaca was one of the better ones. Unfortunately, I compare all Machaca to that made at El Tepeyac on Evergreen in East LA, and I have never found anything that comes very close. The good thing is that this place has a small, but adequate salsa bar where they have, among other things, grilled jalapeno's and onions. So if you add a bunch of jalapeno's and onions and mix it all together it comes out quite nice. But if you want the Gold Standard of Machaca - go to El Tepeyac. The other item worth mentioning is that they make their own corn tortillas. Now I am more of a flour tortilla fan, but these are delicious. They are thicker than usual and have lots and lots of flavor. If all corn tortillas were like these, I could be a fan... The service was very nice: you order and pay at the counter and they bring you your food. Area is somewhat small, so I could see it getting very crowded. We were there mid-afternoon so it was fine. They also have a reward program so that you set up an email account and, after a while you get something. We'll find out how it works at some point. And they also have a Taco Tuesday: will definitely have to try that out. Bottom line is that I think that we've found a small local taco place that is outstanding. We will definitely be back. I suspect that after a couple more visits to experiment and determine consistency we will be upgrading to five stars.

After shopping we were hungry and i wanted to try something new . I ordered the menudo and boy you better come with an appetite the portions are big. My son had the asada tacos and he was very pleased, and my hubby the mechaca very delicious with hand made tortillas. We will return when we visit here again.

Really sad to write a bad review because this was my favorite restaurant. I had their chicken and 2 hrs later.... i was sick. i got food poisoning and haven't been back in months.

Great Al Pastor tacos, with wonderful tortillas. The rice and beans were just okay. The beans have an interesting flavor, and I'm not sure what to make of it. Not bad, just different. Service was friendly and fast. Food was served hot. I will definitely go back and try it again.

  • Danny Z.

The Food is the Awesome, but BAD customer SERVICE. I've looked around for a good Taco Place I've taken the sacrifice to drive to this place but because of the rude cashier. I will NEVER EVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE. And pretty stupid that we have to serve our own Ice to get some Hochata. They need to change the staffing except the cooks, my respects..

  • Lisa H.

Stopped here on our way to the mountains based on Yelp reviews. It was amazing! All 4 of us ordered different things and they were all delicious. My fish tacos were flavorful and moist, but my son's spicy shrimp taco was incredible. We left wishing Aztlan was near where we live!

  • Maren G.

I absolutely adore this place! The al pastor sopes are life changing! The meat is super tender and full of flavor, the beans and rice are just like Nana's (or Tata's)! I really appreciate their price point too, it's cheap enough for the whole family to eat and stuff ourselves. Staff is welcoming and friendly too.

  • Alex K.

I love supporting local business, and I stopped here for a (really) late lunch today. I didn't have such high hopes. It's in a non descript strip mall, and doesn't look impressive from the outside. I am so glad I was wrong. Aztlán serves high quality Mexican food at affordable prices. They make hand made corn tortillas. They're as soft as a flour tortilla and not as dry as the corn tortillas I've had so many of. Awesome! The Aztlán Taco is carne asada and nopales (cactus) and they even include the guacamole for free. Definitely good stuff. The al pastor was also tasty as well. The jamaíca is listed as homemade, but it's hard to tell, taste wise, other than some chunky residue in the bottom of my cup. Refreshing. Service was friendly. I can't wait to come back.

Good food. Had the asada tacos plate. Good amount of food at a fair price. Will be back.

Azatlán it's a perfect spot that incorporates home style Mexican cooking with a trendy atmospheric vibe. The menu offers the basics from tacos to tortas. Most of the food seems dead on authentic but it's the simple dishes such as the beans and rice that are the highlight in my opinion. Today I had the Thursday special: fish taco plate. The tacos were far from stellar. The fish was heavily breaded. Yet the tortilla, cabbage, pico, and Chipotle sauce balanced out the experience. I would like to come back and have a meat plate here.

  • Jessica C.

The food is fantastic! They never disappoint. Hand made tortillas and real "al pastor" meat. Love it here! My friends visiting from Utah ate here and recommended the place. Ive done the same ever since. I bring my family here and they too enjoy the great food. Staff have always been friendly. Taco night gets busy. Order ahead for pick up, if possible

The tacos are delicious and the homemade tortillas are perfect! Everything was really fresh and the restaurant is very clean. Will definitely be coming back!

  • Dustin H.

I usually get a couple Al Pastor, and one Spicy Shrimp taco (which is actually pretty spicy). Neat little location and interesting industrial look. The tacos are tasty, and they put guacamole on the tacos, which a lot places don't. If I was to give some sort of criticism, the chips aren't great, but I do like them so not sure where I stand on that.

Usually eat here for good quick Mexican food and the only reason I'm giving this establishment a one star rating is for customer service today, I ordered food and was never called up until I noticed my order being picked up by someone else that WAS called up. Upon seeing the other customers were touching my food I asked the cashier for my order to be remade and she immediately had an attitude with me and AUDIBLY said "OH My GoD" in utter disgust with me. I don't know about the rest of the people that eat here but I had a valid request, it was nothing against the customers if my food is touched by someone else's bare hands that doesn't work there I'm not eating it. Still reluctant and scoffing at me she had my order remade, at an astonishingly glacial pace. Everyone in the restaurant was served before me. Then she h has the nerve to come and tell me that they will NOT remake my order and that the "manager" refused to make t again. NEVER eating here again. Other customers handling food and then being served to you is A HEALTH HAZARD. DONT EAT HERE.

Omg from the start it was a blast. The casher to the cook was great. Service for a small place was amazing. I ordered a Carne asada burrito then went back for two street tacos with el pastor and to my surprise they were the bomb. No fail here, just great food and good service!! Good job here!!

I use to drive far for good tacos until discovering this place by my house. The tacos are really delicious and so is everything else. I have tried their chicken enchiladas which taste great, I get it with green sauce which has a zesty lime kick to it.. The burritos are good too. You get a nice portion size and everything is pretty fulfilling. The service is also great. The girl at the cashier always greets you and makes you feel welcomed.. I highly recommend this place

    (5)
  • Yuri Z.

The customer service is the worst. Cashier seems like they hate their job. Will not come back...there is plenty of tacos places that value my service!!! Will not come back especially after being insulted!

  • Anthony T.

This is my favorite taco shop in the area. In particular I love their carne asada street tacos and the carne asada nachos. The tortillas are made fresh on the spot and the meat seasoned just right. When I want authentic Mexican tacos this is the place to be.

Today was the 2nd time my wife and I have gone to this restaurant, this time was even better than the first time. We actually went for breakfast this time. The food is very fresh and seems authentic, you can sit and watch them make fresh corn tortillas for your meal. We have driven by here for the past year and never wanted to stop, it's not in the best shopping center in that location.we are glad we gave it a try. If you are in the area or don't mind a drive , I highly recommend trying this place out. The prices are pretty reasonable for what you get, the portions are not small. We were there about 1000 am and there was a few people and within 30 min it was standing room only. Give them a try !!!!!

    (5)
  • Lou A.

The food is good, they offer nopales which is great. This lil' place is tucked away and we forget it's there.

    (4)
  • Jenny H.

This is a solid taco shop. They make their tortillas from scratch which makes all the difference when ordering tacos. Their service is hit or miss, depending on who's on the cash register.

  • Misty P.

I'm new to the area, have been here 8 months. I live nearby and this is the best place in the area I've been thus far. Ppl are nice, particularly the young girl with glasses (sorry, I don't know your name). She is very friendly and has a great memory (unlike me). Always seems to know what I want to order and is great a suggesting new food. I've had the Baja Taco, very good. Very close to what I've actually had in Baja. Aztlan burrito is good, but is a hit or miss. Not consistent in flavor. Had the Spicy Shrimp taco (a suggestion from the nice girl at the counter) and it's the best taco ever. Very flavorful. Has a kick; spicy by the time you're done do don't forget the Horchata.

    (4)
  • Bryan B.

Their spicy shrimp burrito is SOOOOOOOOOO spicy. But SOOOOOOO good. Just prepare your bum because it's going to be molten lava.

Came here for a couple years and food is good there prices jumped up and all of sudden u get ur own food. They used to offer chips salso now u have to ask and get these small bags. Its not a customer services place thats for sure. Im not going to knock food its good but at these prices I may skip it next time we drive by.sorry aztlan.

Good food! Everything was fresh and the menu is quite large with a huge selection for any appetite. I enjoyed my whole meal.

We go here all the time. I normally order the veggie tacos or veggie burrito wet with green sauce. Let me just tell you, the green sauce you could put it on a tire and I would eat that tire! It's that good! The staff is always friendly and the Togo salsa bar is great! Many options. My kids love the Carne Asada Fries and quesadillas. Our orders are always big and they keep it together without messing up anyone's order. Highly recommended.

I phone ordered a breakfast burrito $ 5.94 with extra bacon, went in and not realizing the cashier charged me $10.86, got back to work ate my lunch. Then it dawned on me they charged me $4.92 for extra bacon. So I figured the lady must of accidentally charged me a bit more, so I called and she told me that the burrito was $ 5.94 including tax and extra bacon was $2.00....uh well that comes out to $7.94 so she asked me to hold on.......10 minutes later I had to hang up so I called back and now they are not answering my call....Thought I found a good place to eat, food is great but will never go back there again, seems they like to rip you off, just wondering how many times have they over charged me or others in the past.....

  • John C.

I got the Baja Fish taco and a carne asada/chorizo taco. Amazing. My wife got a spicy shrimp taco and a potato taco. Amazing. I wish I knew about this place before tonight! They've got a huge menu too.

  • Tiffany C.

I'm on the fence with this place. Their food is just OKAY. Except their chips, those are pretty awful. They are thin and always taste stale. So save your money and stay away from things like carne asada nachos. Also, if you have ever watched them make your food they microwave it. I've seen them take beans and other items in tupperware containers and put it in the microwave. Not sure if they make it in the morning and then heat it up, but for the price you would think they would make it fresh. Which brings me to the pricing. It's a little too high in my opinion. They charge extra for everything and have a high fee for debit (also, you have to purchase 5$ minimum to be able to use a debit card) I would recommend this place I guess, but no entrees containing chips, and make sure you bring cash to avoid paying the debit fee.

    (3)
  • Rick R.

I been going there for 1 year and The food is great and the cashiers are friendly but the owner is very unfriendly. I go at least one to twice a week and she probably has said hi a total of 3 times hi and has smiled the same amount. If it wasn't for her workers and the food I would never go in. She needs to learn customer service.

  • Kannan M.

Great place. Delicious veggie burritos. Great service as well. The lady at the counter was very helpful in identifying veggie options. Horchata was very sweet. Tamales were great. Tried pineapple and sweet corn tamales.

  • Jonathan U.

I have been visiting this place over a year now and food has always been good and the way I ordered. However the management has this new idea that any changes or addition to a menu item will now cost extra. They charge extra for everything and never used to do that. The portion sizes have steadily become smaller and the prices have risen on each printing of their menu. The staff has also become quite rude and really don't seem to care to kindly accommodate customers. My best recommendation is to find a better Mexican burrito / taco shop unless your car broke down in front of their shop!

  • Cameron H.

If you live in or are passing through lake elsinore this is your best bet for food. Always consistent and always good. It kind of reminds me of chipotle the way it is designed on the inside. Very clean as well. The chef here does a great job on all the items. I probably eat here 4 times a week. For only $7 you can get a solid meal. I would recommend the chicken tacos or nutrishop burrito.

  • Andrew C.

GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE. The place is always clean and the wait for the good isn't long at all. I enjoy an occasional California Burrito and horchata, this places hits the spot. I will continue coming here and it's only down the street from my house.

  • Raul V.

The food was pretty good just a bit over priced. Looks like alot of people like this place and I guess I can see why. It's a clean place the food prep was nice and the food good, as for the people that work there not sure if they're the owners or just employees i didn't like their attitude, the were kinda rude and a bit on the dry side if you know what I mean. Idk maybe I just got 'em on a bad day. I most likely won't go back.

  • Maria G.

The carne asada and al pastor tacos were delicious! You can choose the regular mini taco tortillas or homemade tortillas. They also have guacamole on tacos if you'd like some. Great service too!

    (5)
  • Gary L.

Started with carne asada burrito, was really great! The quality of the meat was great! Breakfast burritos are great too, I usually get eggs n cheese with chorizo. And when it gets cold I like to get their meat ball soup, (really spicy beware), with vegetables. I definitely recommend this place! FYI:Only only thing is if you substitute guacamole for sour cream, or other ingredients, can get pricy.. but I always do it since it taste really great.

  • Courtney O.

I love this place so much! The asada fries, the asada burrito, the potato tacos and the green sauce are all fantastic! The people are really nice and the food is ready really quick! The guac isn't the usual guac and I didn't really care for it. If you call in the order, it's ready by the time you get there. I go at least once a week!

  • Nelson S.

If I can give them -5 stars for horrible service from a complaint I would, I had been a loyal customer from this place since their food is good. I order a non spicy burrito by the time I get home my wife tries it and tells me is spicy, got in the phone right away to let them know, and their answer is " we'll we did not make it spicy" I tell the lady that I tried it myself and it is, i explain to her that wife is allergic to spicy food and I would like to bring their burrito back but I don't feel like driving all the way there just to show you your mistake, after she tell me that I will get credit from it next time I go, get a call from another girl letting me know that if I want credit back I have to bring them the burrito..... WTF??? Really? Manager should work a little more on customer satisfaction and how to treat people. I'm not upset for the 7 bucks I spent there, I'm pissed now for their poor judgement. That's for sure you won't get any business from my family anymore.

  • Cassidy R.

The place was clean, and the service was alright. I asked for limes and she said they were at the salsa bar. But they were lemons. She said they didn't carry limes. Which was whatever, didnt bug me. Just thought was weird. I ordered a carne asada burrito for $7 and I have to say the size of the burrito was PATHETIC!!!!!! It was smaller than a half pound burrito from del taco. Pretty ridiculous. The burrito wasn't all that good either, I don't think I'll be going back.

  • Mario F.

I ordered the lengua, carne asada and carne asada with chorizo tacos. The carne with chorizo was out of this world!! I loved it with the perfect amount of spice and flavor. The carne asada was good as well, but not the best. I didn't like the lengua due to the fact that they chop it in chunks. I prefer my lengua in smaller cuts. But when I'm back in the area, I will it here.

Okay, I saw this place a few months back as there was one of those sign twirling dudes on the side of the street. It said now open....I just drove right by. Then when my BF went out of town, I drove by decided I wasn't cooking for one and stopped in. The place is clean and reminded me of a very clean taco place in say....Mexico. The employees were very nice and the menu is simple. I ordered a fish and a shrimp taco, went over to the salsa bar and filled the little salsa cups togo. Food came, I took it home, I devoured it. AMAZING!!!! Shoot, I'm gonna go right now :)

This place is pretty authentic! My mom is a regular at this place and insisted on bringing us kids in to try it. We were not disappointed. The place was very clean, the service was friendly and attentive. I had a sope, and the menuedo; both really tasty. My husband chowed down on some a chorizo burrito that was very good. Our table also shared some flautas that were unbelievable! They were so fresh and "fluffy". They make their own tortillas or so it seems! We will definitely be back!

My bf and I stumbled on this little taco shop today and decided to go in and check it out. Sooooo glad we did! They have only been open for 2 weeks so they are a work in process and it was really hot in there. I don't think their A/C was working too well. It didn't matter though once we tasted the food! Wow. I had an Al Pastor taco which was done in the traditional manner with a vertical rotisserie and the pineapple and a homemade corn tortilla with cilantro, onions and guacamole (I don't like avocado so none for me) it was supposed to have pineapple on it too but they were out. Still was really tasty! I also tried their Chile Relleno which was the absolute best I have ever had! Freshly roasted pasilla chile with a ton of mexican fresh cheese stuffed into it. The egg white batter was very light and tasty. It was served to me with no sauce which threw me off at first but once I took a bite, OMG it was better without it! I am not exaggerating when I say it was the best I have ever had! Fanfreakintastic! My bf had a Carne Asada taco on homemade corn tortilla and he was practically drooling he said it was that good! He also tried their Taquitos Dorados de Papa (Potato Taquitos) which he has never had before. Deep fried corn tortilla with smashed potatoes and onions, mexican fresh cheese and cabbage. He loved it so much his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he just about slid out of his chair! LOL I tasted them and they were really, really good! They carry several mexican beers which my bf had and I had their mexican cinnamon coffee and they were kind enough to pour it over ice for me. Great coffee. Fresh and strong. Really tasty. We finished with a shared piece of Impossible Cake (Chocoflan) half chocolate cake and half flan. Delicious. They do fresh churros and a Flan de Queso too which I am dying to try. This is our new go to place for mexican food. Cannot wait to try some of their other items. They do tacos, burritos, gorditas, sopes and soups and some breakfast items, enchiladas and on the weekends they do Pozole and Birria broth! Oh and they have quite a few vegetarian items and they use cactus in quite a few of their tacos, sopes, gorditas and burritos. If you get a chance you have to give them a try. Really fresh and yummy food!

Everything about this little taco shop is fantastic! The decor is unique, the horchata is thick and delicious, and the salsa is nice and HOT! I ordered the carne asada nachos, which came in a huge helping (I had plenty of leftovers for breakfast the next day), and went perfectly with the "Very Hot" sauce from their bar of different sauces. My boyfriend got a carne asada plate, which came with a piece of grilled cactus! He loved it. We will definitely be returning, and highly suggest you try it if you're stopping off the freeway or if you're a local. Definitely worth it, reasonably priced, and really great service!

We just stopped in for a late lunch after reading the reviews. This place is excellent if you are looking for delicious, fresh and reasonably priced food. Our only wish was that we lived closer to come here often! Don't give it a second thought - go!

Yelp pointed us in this direction. The tacos were flavorful and the carne asada burrito was great. They even carry the bottles of soda from Mexico. Service was good and the salsa bar was clean and well stocked. The shrimp tacos were cooked perfectly and not dry or rubbery. The grilled chicken was flavorful too and very moist, especially for a small quick service place. Can't wait to go back again.

I've spent about $20 a week there for the last 6 months. Last night my family and I went in there for dinner. The food was great as usual until my wife asked for cilantro and onions for her tacos (2.20 version) the girl said it was extra for cilantro and onion??? Okay so she brought out 2 -2oz ramekins of each cilantro and onion. After we were done she said oh I need to charge you for the cilantro and onion. . Ru kidding me!!!!!!! I've Been a restaurant kitchen manager for 10 yrs that is absurd!!!!!i pulled out a dollar expecting .50. No..$2.60... Is this a joke? not wanting to embarrass my family or make a scene i pull out my debit card. She says there is $5 minimum in cards... Your problem not mine, I was charge $3.60 for a total of 4 oz of cilantro 4oz of onions. Probably cost them .10. I hope the $3.60 was worth losing a loyal customer. In this market and being a small business gouging your guests will put you out of business .

Best Taco shop in Lake Elsinore. Freshly made tortillas, great salsa, and tacos are the bomb. Nachos are very good too.

BEST TACO SHOP EVER!!! Born and raised in So Cal so I've had my fair share of taco shops. Aztlan is by far the best. Clean eating area and visible kitchen which also looks clean. Quick and friendly service. But I cannot express how fresh and amazing the quality of the food is. I saw a review from "Tim" about the price, and quality. I couldn't disagree more and ask you to ignore it. I too have have a carne asada taco and chicken taco. They are my go to meal, and actually best I've ever had! The tortillas are homemade and legitimate, super soft and flavorful. No, it's the the cheapest, but you definitely get your money's worth. Homemade chips on the house, homemade salsa's and best carne asada I've ever tasted. You won't be disappointed!!!

I was having trouble thinking of how to rate this place. The food deserves a four, but the portions and prices are more like a three. Let me explain, the carne asada tacos, sopes and salsa bar are awesome! The taco had really good flavor, as did the sope, and the salsa bar is full of options! I loved every bite of my meal. I got a side order of rice and beans which were delicious but puny in size. They served me less than half a scoop of each, that's terrible! So I'm still debating if the amazing flavors of their food are worth the super tiny portions and high prices. I must admit that I left this place still with a grumble in my stomach and a hole in my wallet. So for now this place is a 3.5, unless they increase their portions or lower their prices.

Pleasantly surprised! Went in not expecting much, as I haven't had much luck finding a decent Mexican food shop in the area since moving from S.D. The location is a bit hidden, but very clean and modern. Ordered the carne asada torta, very good! the bread was soft and it was an authentic torta with refried beans, meat, avocado slices and lettuce-just needed a bit of a spice kick, but was very good. There are several items on the menu that I can't wait to try, will definitely be going back!

Stopped there a few months ago, and I've been a steady weekly customer. Wow, not your regular taco shop. Someone there has culinary training, but keeps it simple, and sooooo good. Freshness and skill can't be beat. The menu was a surprise to me. From shrimp (cooked right) in tacos to fajitas, grilled chicken that was just grilled, asada that was tender yet great flavor to ceviche that is to die for. My goodness what a refreshing treat. One thing I really appreciate about any quality restaurant is if I want something off menu, and they have the ingredients, I'll get it, and won't be disappointed. Service, albeit sophomoric, is always striving to please....I like that. Their new, and have all the right elements to do well. Great attitude, great food from fresh ingredients, and value. Go there, and order something different from your norm... Ed T.

I am from San Diego and I don't know if I just took being near the border for granted, but then again I've eaten Mexican food in Chicago better than this. I paid $22 dollars for two appetizer sized carne asada fries plates and a chimichanga which I had to pay extra to get. it took forever to get and when I did receive the food all I got is some French fries with a couple of scoops of meat and cheese thrown together, and a deep fried chicken cubed, yuck, burrito, not a chimichanga. No flavor no spices I was highly disappointed. I asked them to put on some lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on it and low and behold they had these ingredients, which they then skimped on, it was closing time so I didn't understand why they halved a small tomato and cubed it followed by a hand full of lettuce. I wanted to get my money back but I thought about the hungry people waiting for me with there grandma in the car.. Which yelled mommy you took so long when I got back. Do yourself a favor and save your money for a better place.

I'm a little half and half about this place. Don't get me wrong the food is good! I love that the carne asada has flavor! I am hispanic and definetley have had my share of good and bad flavored meat. The portions are pretty good as well I do think the breakfast burritos are a bit of a rip off. The reason being that it only comes with about three items in the burrito and if you want bacon or something else its a bit expensive to add. I do think the prices are a bit high. I go here mostly because it is good food but also convenience! I live right up the street so im ok with spending a few extra bucks rather then have food a little cheaper but drive further!

I like the horchata, the food is decent. It's good when you're sick of eating the chain fast food, but it's not great.

The staff here is very friendly! They offer daily specials and their tortillas are fresh! The restaurant is small and simply decorated, but very clean. Reasonably priced. Will definitely eat here again!

This is BY FAR the best taco place I've ever been to. I'm speaking from an extremely critical point of view, being a chef and culinary school graduate. The way the flavors meld together to create an experience like no other is very refreshing in a niche that normally throws together all of the traditional Mexican favorites and calls it 'Mexican food'. This place is a cut above. Friendly service, clean atmosphere, FREAKIN' FANTASTIC....one little almost criticism...the location could be better. If you didn't know this place was there, you'd miss it...and trust me, it's too good to miss.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
